Screenings of John Jeremy’s films at the Maysles Documentary Center, Harlem, New York, NY, USA
Two classic documentaries by John Jeremy - BLUES LIKE SHOWERS OF RAIN and JAZZ IS OUR RELIGION - will screen at the Maysles Documentary Center in Harlem, NYC on Friday 18 April 2025. Presented as part of a season of rare jazz documentaries ‘Cinema Blues: the convergence of Jazz and Film’ curated by Andrew Castillo.

US Library of Congress Acquires Two Films by John Jeremy
December 2024: The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. has accessioned two 35mm film prints of documentaries by the British filmmaker John Jeremy:
BLUES LIKE SHOWERS OF RAIN (1970)
and
JAZZ IS OUR RELIGION (1971)
The films have been recognised as works of significant cultural and historical value and the prints (from Mr Jeremy's personal archive) will be preserved in perpetuity at the Library of Congress, with newly scanned hi-res digital versions to be created for accessibility and public viewing.
UK-based John Jeremy is delighted that his 35mm film prints have found a permanent home in the US, and hopes that a new generation of viewers may discover and be inspired by them.
